Success rates
The success rates of IVF in Australia are usually expressed as "clinical pregnancies" per embryo transfer procedure.
In a clinical pregnancy, a pregnancy sac may be seen on an ultrasound 4 weeks after the egg collection procedure, but a heartbeat may or may not be seen. A significant number of these pregnancies will miscarry. If there is a heartbeat, then the chance of miscarriage is less than 5%, so the "heartbeat positive" pregnancy rate takes us further.
