Patient information from Hollywood Fertility Centre

Cost of treatment

At Hollywood Fertility Centre, we know that comparing costs of treatment at different centres can be confusing. An accounts representative will discuss with you what you can expect to pay based on the treatment you are having and your private insurance coverage.

Some clinics charge an all-inclusive fee. Others quote an out of pocket fee, but later add fees for services that we routinely include from the beginning such as Day Surgery, anaesthesia and blastocyst culture. You could also find that at other centres you are charged for services that become necessary unexpectedly.

We believe that you have a right to know the maximum amount you will pay, so we quote an all-inclusive fee that represents the most you will be out of pocket - no hidden fees or surprises. Of course if any part of the anticipated service turns out not to be required you will receive a refund for that part.

The quote includes the fee currently charged by our doctors, which is set at their discretion.

Our fees include:

  • Monitoring of your cycle by a Hollywood Fertility Centre doctor, including:
    • pathology tests at Hollywood Fertility Centre approved labs
    • ultrasounds performed by Hollywood Fertility Centre approved ultrasound specialists.
  • Egg collection
    • when the time is right for you
    • by one of our IVF specialist doctors
    • on-site, avoiding cross-city transport of eggs or embryos
    • no hidden Day Surgery fees.
  • Blastocyst culture is routine
  • There will be some additional costs associated with:
    • doctors consultation
    • day surgery
    • anaesthesia
    • pre-diagnostic tests
    • Some of the drugs that are not covered by Medicare, such as Provera, Luueris, Cetrotide and Orgalutran.

Providing assisted conception services requires a team of highly skilled and individually committed doctors, nurses and scientists, as well as state-of-the-art equipment, all of which are expensive to provide. In Australia, we are all fortunate that Medicare helps pay for a large portion of fertility treatment and most of the necessary medications. The MedicarePlus Safety Net 80% rebate of out-of-pocket costs will assist even more, as soon as you are over your threshold of annual out-of-pocket outpatient medical costs.
