Fertility and conception

For many people, having a baby and creating a family is the greatest achievement of their lives. So it's not uncommon for them to plan their families carefully, waiting until the time is just right to fall pregnant.

Most couples assume that once they stop using contraception, pregnancy will happen quickly. In fact, about 85% of couples do conceive in the first year.

To appreciate how Hollywood Fertility Centre can assist with helping you conceive, it's important to understand exactly what has to go right for conception to occur.

Once a week, staff from the Hollywood Family Centre hold an information evening for couples starting an IVF cycle.

In this talk, couples are encouraged to ask questions and a short tour of our lab facilities is presented by a laboratory staff member.

Our counsellors also hold twice weekly educational seminars for patients treated for the first time. In these seminars the counsellors will talk about the emotions that you may experience during your treatment.

A lot of the terms and processes you'll encounter here and along your journey will be unfamiliar, difficult to pronounce or not easy to comprehend initially, but as you begin to recognise and understand the terminology it will become much less overwhelming.
