Pre-treatment groups

The groups are educational in nature and are designed to assist patients to better prepare for, and cope with, the emotional demands of treatment.

The best time to attend a group session is during your assessment cycle, after you have had your consultations • with your doctor and a nurse.

It is essentilal to book a place for the group session, as numbers in each session are limited. Bookings can be made with reception staff.

In the group session we will explore:

• the potential stresses associated with fertility treatment
• useful coping strategies
• resources and supports available for patients
• questions and discussion, depending on interest and time available.

There is no additional charge to patients for these sessions.

If patients feel that they have personal issues to consider before treatment, or would prefer a more private setting • to address pre treatment matters, and/or are unable to attend at the regular group time, then confidential / personal counselling sessions are available, by appointment.
